Introduction of Coins
Like all overdate varieties of the 20th Century, this one resulted from the sinking of a working die using working hubs of two different dates. Since such coins are also doubled-dies, there are other features of the obverse revealing doubled images. Only a single working die was so affected, and this variety is thus quite rare in Mint State. Worn examples are more plentiful, as the variety wasn't notice until many coins had already entered circulation.Read More
