Sales of the 1956 proof set rose dramatically from the previous year, as the ongoing speculative frenzy for modern proofs continued. Most proof 1956 were quite well made. Though Cameo pieces are in the minority, the sheer number of proofs struck make this issue more available with nice contrast than previous dates. Ultra Cameo proofs, however, are quite rare.
