HALF DIME
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Introduction of Coins
This is a fairly common coin in all circulated grades and in Mint State through the MS 64 level. As with all early United States coins, gems are scarce, and the very highest grades are unknown for such pieces. The only variety of note is a repunched date in which all four numerals are duplicated, though the first impression of the 3 is nearly impossible to see. This die was also used for proofs, and it is a moderately scarce variety for the currency pieces.Read More
