This is a relatively scarce coin across all grades, though not a true rarity. There are a number of Mint State pieces certified, including a few gems. Like many New Orleans Mint coins of the period, areas of weak striking are common. Three different mintmark sizes are known for this issue. The Large O and Medium O (photos) reverses are the ones most often seen, while the tiny Small O mintmark is rare.Read More
