Introduction of Coins
Sales of minor proofs recovered only slightly from their nadir in 1907, and this is another moderately scarce issue. Proof 1908 nickels were made with quality in mind, and those that have not been mishandled or improperly cleaned reveal deeply reflective fields and sharp strikes overall. Blue-green toning was once typical of these coins, though not especially appealing.
