HALF DIME
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Introduction of Coins
This issue was produced in large numbers, and worn examples are extremely common. Mint State pieces are fairly plentiful through the grade of MS 64. Many of these coins, however, are deficient in striking quality. The border denticles are flat or incomplete on most. The only notable variety is a misplaced date having the lower loop of an 8 visible within Liberty's gown. Walter Breen's report of a doubled date is doubtful.
