HALF DIME
Introduction of Coins
This was one of the larger mintages in the half dime series, and examples are common across all grades through MS 64. When both the Treasury and banks suspended specie payment as a result of the Civil War, many of these coins were hoarded for their intrinsic value and were thus spared from wear.
