Introduction of Coins
The calendar year mintage of half dimes for 1832 was a bit smaller than usual, but this date is certainly not rare, as many were coined with this date during 1833. Numismatists are able to determine this by comparing the various states of the dies used, as the same reverse die may have been more worn when paired with an 1832 obverse than it was when used to strike 1833-dated coins. LM-11 is rare, while LM-9 is very rare. Scarce varieties include LM-1, -2, -4, -6, -8, -10, -13 and -14.Read More
