Introduction of Coins
The low mintage recorded for 1919-D quarters prompted higher production during 1920, and the number of 1920-D quarters struck would not again be this high at the Denver Mint for the remainder of the series. Most, however, were rather poorly made, with weakness in all central details, the top of the date and, of course, Liberty's head. Typical of Denver Mint coins from this period, die cracks are also distressingly common. This issue is scarce across all grades. Mint State gems are rare, with those earning the FH designation being especially elusive.Read More
