Introduction of Coins
Though its mintage is not especially low, the 1907-D quarter dollar is scarce in all but the lowest grades. Choice circulated examples are in continual demand. There are a fair number of Mint State survivors, but gems are very rare. Weakness of strike is evident in this issue, with the deepest portions of the die cavities not filling completely. Thus, Liberty's forehead and the eagle's sinister claw and its arrow feathers may be featureless. A more unusual and desirable variety is the obverse doubled die.Read More
