Introduction of Coins
The 1913-D quarter dollar should be a common coin, based simply on its mintage and the fact that it came late in this series, yet examples are more scarce across all grades than most of the later entries. Though a fair number of Mint State pieces have been certified, precious few of these are gems. Often seen are coins having weakness at the mintmark and the adjacent claw and arrow feathers. David Lawrence recorded six similar but distinctive mintmark positions, but there are no collectors of such minor variations.Read More
