Introduction of Coins
The quarter dollars dated 1805 were delivered in seven warrants issued between April 29 and July 31. These provide numismatists with the total coinage figure given here. Five die marriages are known for 1805 quarters, these comprised of four obverses (one used for two marriages) and four reverses. Browning varieties 2 and 3 are common, while B-1, -4 and -5 are all scarce. As a common date for its type, the 1805 is a good candidate for type sets. Mint State examples are nevertheless scarce, and they vary in striking quality.Read More
