Introduction of Coins

Toward the end of 1937 the nation slid into a short but painful economic recession amid the seeming recovery from the Great Depression. This affected the Midwest first, as American agriculture had never fully recovered its lackluster years during the 1920s. While in later years of this series the coins of the Denver Mint would be consistently the most well struck, this was still not true in 1937. While sharp coins may be found, they are in the minority. Certified gems of varying strike quality are available through MS-66, but the numbers drop off rapidly above that grade. There are no varieties known for this issue.Read More
