Introduction of Coins
This date/mint is plentiful in worn condition, with Mint State survivors being scarce but not truly rare. Only at the gem level does this coin become very challenging. Some 11 die marriages are known, these being the products of seven obverses and eight reverses. Two of the latter feature a Medium O mintmark, while the remainder display the more common Large O. Collector interest in these varieties is limited to series specialists. Two collars are known to have been used (145 reeds or 146).Read More
