Having learned from its experience of the previous several years, the Philadelphia Mint coined only 550 sets of silver proof coins. It's likely that most of these sold, with the balance being melted at the beginning of the new calendar year. Two die marriages resulted from the pairing of two obverse dies with a single reverse.
