Introduction of Coins
The typical 1905-S half dollar is well made, with a good strike and excellent luster. Survivors are in low supply, but their superior appearance has resulted in a disproportionate percentage of gems. Circulated examples are plentiful, even in the usually elusive collector grades of F through XF. Kevin Flynn's book on this series lists a repunched mintmark variety, but the worn coin in his photo is unconvincing.Read More
