Introduction of Coins
The typical 1906-S half dollar displays good luster and a full strike. David Lawrence noted that striations are sometimes visible from the strip rolling process. A fair number of Mint State survivors are known, and these include more than the usual quota of gems. It is in the higher circulated grades of XF and AU this this issue is most elusive. No varieties are reported for 1906-S halves beyond the expected minor variations in date and mintmark placement.Read More
