Introduction of Coins
As is true with all New Orleans half dollars in the 20th Century, many examples are poorly struck. A few of these display "mumps," a sinking of the obverse die that resulted in a raised area around Liberty's neck and jaw. Mint State pieces are somewhat scarce, though a fair number have been certified as gems. There may be some duplication in these figures. Circulated examples are plentiful in lower-mid grades, but they become more elusive at the XF and AU levels. No varieties are known for 1906-O.Read More
