Introduction of Coins
A couple of dies remained from among those prepared for 1805, and these were overdated to read 1806. All feature the Knobbed 6. Two obverse dies were paired with four reverses to create a total of four die marriages. All are reasonably common, with O-104 being slightly scarce. This marriage survived through several states, as the dies progressively cracked and chipped. 1806/5 half dollars are quite rare in Mint State, with O-103 and O-103a being the die marriage most likely to be found unworn.Read More
