Introduction of Coins

First struck in 1986, Gold Eagles are one of the world's most popular ways to buy gold. The coins are available in 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, and 1oz sizes, with face values of $5, $10, $25, and $50, respectively. 1990 saw the first increase in mintage of the proof $50 gold eagle. Sales increased 14% to 62,401 this year. Quality dropped this year however, with only a third of coins earning the grade PF70UC. (6/2016)Read More
