Introduction of Coins
First struck in 1986, Gold Eagles are one of the world's most popular ways to buy gold. The coins are available in 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, and 1oz sizes, with face values of $5, $10, $25, and $50, respectively. Due to incredibly high bullion coin demand, no proof gold eagles were struck in 2009. When they returned in 2010, demand was high, as the mint sold nearly twice as had been sold in 2008, some 59,480 coins. This is higher than any mintage since 1990. Quality was great with 80% grading PF70UC. (6/2016)Read More
