Introduction of Coins
First struck in 1986, Gold Eagles are one of the world's most popular ways to buy gold. The coins are available in 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, and 1oz sizes, with face values of $5, $10, $25, and $50, respectively. In 1994, the mint transferred production of the $5, $10, and $25 proof gold eagles from the Philadelphia Mint to their facility at West Point. The change in mint of issue might have helped bump the sales, but only by 1,708 coins.Read More
