Introduction of Coins
First struck in 1986, the Gold Eagle coin program is one of the world's most popular gold coin programs. The coins are available in 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, and 1oz sizes, with face values of $5, $10, $25, and $50, respectively. Gold hit a 20 year low in July of 1999. Due to this, sales for gold eagles of all sized went through the roof. This year saw the highest mintage for the $10 gold eagle since 1986. 564,232 coins were struck. The coins were well made as well, with just over 9% receiving the coveted grade of MS70. (6/2016)Read More
