Introduction of Coins
This issue is fairly common in gem, fully red condition from rolls that were saved at the time of release. Most 1937-S cents are also well made, with very few showing more than moderate die erosion. All production at the San Francisco Mint during 1937 took place in two phases. Operations ceased during the months of June through August, as equipment was moved from the old 1874 structure to the new one dedicated in May, and the mint made its annual settlement for the end of the fiscal year June 30. Of course, there is no way to distinguish coins made at the two facilities.Read More
