With a relatively healthy mintage of 859,600 pieces,one would not expect the 1888-S gold double eagle to be too rare. Actually, in grades through lower mint state, it isn't. However, Most seemed to have been put into circulation or were mishandled in bags as above MS63 this issue becomes quite rare. It's extremely rare in gem.阅读更多
