The figure of 470 proofs for the 1864 half dime is typical of the period, yet some additional demand must have existed, as this issue was later restruck during the 1870s. The total of the two issues combined is still modest, and there is additional pressure on this date given the great rarity of 1864-dated currency strikes. Perhaps it was the rarity of this issue and the 1863 half dime which prompted such restriking.阅读更多
