This issue enjoyed the largest mintage of quarter dollars since 1946, and Mint State pieces of average quality are very common. Truly outstanding examples, however, are quite rare. 1952-D quarters seem to be plagued with numerous small contact marks, far more so than for their coastal counterparts. This issue is one of the keys to completing a Registry-level set of the later dates. A nice doubled-die obverse may be found for 1952-D, but the most interesting variety is the so-called "Huge D" reverse. The mintmark used is similar in style to the regular one for this series after 1934, but it is noticeably larger.阅读更多
