As the first of the new United States coin designs made their debut, sales of the silver proof sets continued to decline. As popular as they are today, Charles Barber's coins were looked upon with some scorn by numismatists of the time. The 1908 proof half dollar is scarce in overall numbers certified, but it is especially so at the gem level. Cameo proofs are truly rare, while Ultra Cameo examples are unknown.阅读更多
