硬币介绍
The year 1814 saw the first significant production of dimes since 1807. A single obverse bore the old style Small Date of 1809-11, but the other two obverse dies featured a Large Date that would become standard for most subsequent issues until 1828. These three obverses with paired with four reverses for a total of five known marriages. None of these five varieties are rare in overall numbers, though their availability in higher grades does differ. JR-3 joins JR-4 as the ones most often seen, with the three remaining varieties being slightly scarcer. JR-1 (the Small Date) and JR-5, with its legend reading STATESOFAMERICA, are the ones most sought by specialists. Mint State examples of the more common varieties exist in fair numbers, and this date is a candidate for the advanced type collector.阅读更多
