硬币介绍
This first emission of cents from the Denver Mint does not seem to have been saved by numismatists for its novelty, though Mint State pieces are only moderately scarce. Most are less than fully red, and those that retain their red color are often poorly struck. A peculiar feature of this date is that its mintmark was often quite shallowly impressed, as on the example illustrated. A very worn specimen could easily be mistaken for its eastern cousin. This date is rich in mintmark punching varieties, as the table at left reveals. Since repunched mintmarks on early Lincolns are not common as a class, this date naturally attracts a lot of attention from specialists.阅读更多
