Introduction of Coins
Two die pairs account for the overdated 1820/19 half dollars, and these varieties are easily distinguished from one another. O-101 and O-101a have a square or flat base to numeral 2, while O-102 has a distinctly curved base to numeral 2. This second variety is slightly more common, but the difference is value is modest. All are quite scarce in Mint State, but lightly worn pieces are available.Read More
